Hosting an image and getting the URL: (if you know how to do this skip this part)

Do a Google search for "Free Image Hosting" there are lots of them, it costs you nothing and some are more easier to use than others. For this demo we will use https://postimage.org
  • Go to postimage.org
  • Click the "Browse" button
  • A window pops up from your computer usually where your images are.
  • Find your image and double click it
  • You can leave the other options as they are and click "Upload It"
  • Once the file is uploaded scroll down and copy where it says "Direct Link"
  • Paste that link in the little image box we mentioned above

RESULT

Size Matters!

Did you know an image that takes to long to download could turn people away? You may be able to see it fine, because it is stored on your computer. But if your image is to big it could take a long time for it to finish downloading, you wouldn't know but your perspective purchaser could have gone before seeing your beautiful holiday home. eek

I'm not talking size as in postcard or a4 sheet, I'm talking KBs or even MBs. The more KBs or MBs your image is, the longer it will take someone to download to be able to view it. However there are solutions and a Google search for "Free Image Resizer" will find you one.

For this demo we will use https://webresizer.com
  • Go to webresizer.com
  • Click "Resize Photos Now"
  • Click Browse a window will open usually where your images are stored on your computer
  • Find your image and double click it
  • Click "Upload Image"
  • It may take time if your image is huge
  • The smaller and faster image will be the one on the left
  • Just below the left image you sill see "download this image"
  • You now have a faster image stored on your computer ready to host with your free image host (see first post)

You will see other options under your image to play with if you want.
