Hiya,
Interested in your post.
Just a couple of questions:
Is this very fine chippings that might blow all over the garden?
Why leave it to stand for about eight weeks?
Just thought I'd ask.
Pip pip.
Hi Admiral,
Thank you for your enquiry, the wood chip will not blow around the garden in general the pieces are to big as for the other it is not advisable to put the chip straight onto the garden if you have plants already in place, the chip will take nutrients from the soil and this may affect the plant, so it is best to let the new green chip stand and mature for 8-12 weeks then it will not affect anything and be a good to suppress weeds and keep the moisture in the soil, eventually it will turn into compost enrich the soil and feed the plants.
I hope this is of some help to you

Thanks for that. All makes sense now.
All I now have to do is convince Madame Admiral that she's on barrowing duty bringing in a ton of woodchip to the garden. And, of course, finding a place in the garden that gets her approval for letting the stuff mature.
Once that happens, will hopefully be in touch.
