The all new Around Montmorillon Forum is now open and accepting new registrations. Originally started in 2009 on a free hosted service, the idea behind the forum was to have a place where English speaking Residents, Holiday Makers, or Visitors of the area could get together and share information on this beautiful part of France.

The forum though reasonably successful at first, seemed to have lost it's way a bit over the years and had become stuck in limbo. It started running into problems, most of all was the free hosting and lack of use. This resulted in the possibility of losing the Around Montmorillon forum for ever, and it was time to step back and review the situation. Do you let it slip away and be lost for ever, or do you try to revive it? If you try to revive it, how do you go about it when you have very low visit rate and a free host threatening to pull the plug?

After an announcement made about possible closure it became clear that there was a few members who would hate to see it go. Visits to the forum started increasing again as some new threads were started, and for a while it felt like it could be rescued. However the place was still looking a bit dull and it needed pulling out of a rut and given a complete makeover.

So here it is, the all new Around Montmorillon forum.
It now lives on it's own hosting so no more tacky advertising, it also has a modern easy to use software and has been given a brighter new look. Though still titled "Around Montmorillon" the forum is not restricted to just the town, the forum members will also give a warm welcome to people from the local area including, Le Dorat, Chauvigny, Lussac-les-Châteaux, L'Isle-Jourdain, Saint-Savin, La Trimouille, Le Blanc, And More.

To be a member of Around Montmorillon you don't have to live in the area we also have members living in the UK, you don't have to speak French it's an English speaking forum. All we ask is that you keep it friendly and free from spam.

We have had to start again from the beginning with a few members who wanted to see it survive, but we need you too. A forum is only as successful as its members make it, so come on in and help get the new forum back to where it was originally heading. To quote Paul the original founder "We want this to be a friendly forum, and we hope it will be a great chance to give and receive advice, find out what's going on and socialise online."

The new Around Montmorillon forum is self funded, which means no one will be asked to donate to the running costs, and you won't see those annoying pop up advertisements for weight loss.
